How We Operate As stated in our mission statement, we promote volunteerism by mobilizing people and resources. To find out how we do this, please read below.
Mobilizing People Without enthusiastic people, there would be no volunteering in Wilson County. Below are ways that we help to spread awareness about volunteerism, and how we create opportunities for volunteers to be happy and helpful citizens.
We heighten community awareness about community needs and opportunities for volunteer involvement.
We recruit and interview volunteers and match them with local agencies or organizations.
We advocate for equal volunteer opportunities for all citizens and remove existing barriers to volunteering, in an effort to engage all segments of the community.
We provide recognition for community volunteers, and host the NC Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service Luncheon.
Mobilizing Resources To help volunteers make the most of their time, goods and services related to volunteerism must be circulated efficiently. Below are ways that we help the flow of such things through the community.
We provide consultations, training, and resources to agencies and volunteer managers.
We provide information on volunteering and community service initiatives.
We act as a clearinghouse for donations of goods and services.
We assist with fundraising for local agencies and organizations through The Human Race.
